Help Save The Deep Creek Recreational Area

Thank you for visiting this page. The Deep Creek Recreational Reserve is situated in Northern British Columbia, Just north of Terrace, BC. The regional district controls part of the deep creek area and the rest is under tree farm license #1, Skeena Cellulose. I realize that there is vast wilderness out there and alot of people will say that because there is so much wilderness left that it is silly to want to preserve another park. Maybe they are right but I think we need more parks, especially parks that are close to cities as this one is.
This area is home to wolves, coyote, fox, grizzly bears, black bears, Kermode bears, moose, mountain goat, fishers, marten, ravens & mink. It is also a rest stop for swans and other migrating birds.
I am sure I haven't seen all the wildlife in this area yet.
The people of Terrace have one park that is within walking distance of the city. That is ferry island. There is no place to swim there and not much room left for wildlife. The Deep Creek area has a lake and old growth forest. There are miles of road to walk along and a warm lake to swim in.
